After Cooper passed, I spent a lot of time thinking about the little things. The moments I rushed through. The days I assumed would always come again. The time I thought I still had. That reflection turned into this story, “2.5 Years,” published in the latest issue of Virginia Sportsman.
I’m incredibly grateful to Eric Kallen for giving it a home. Cooper gave me fifteen years of loyalty, patience, and more lessons than I realized at the time. Now, every day with Traveller and Túra feels a little more important. Because if Cooper taught me anything, it’s that the time we get with them is never long enough.
